ABOUT WILL DUNCAN

Singer-songwriter Will Duncan is a musical time-traveler on a mission to create a twenty-first century songbook in dialogue with that of the twentieth. Raised in New Hampshire, he has been composing music since his single-digit years, including instrumental efforts that have found their way onto the soundtracks of films by acclaimed documentarian Ken Burns. A student of literature and a lover of film, Duncan combines a distinctly poetic lyricism with cinematic melodies and arrangements to create a unique mode of tuneful storytelling. He forms one half of duo Duncan & Piper. His 2021 debut solo album, Dream Train, centers around the theme of “lovers at a distance,” and draws inspiration from the vintage troubadours of the 1960s and '70s. The influence of this musical golden age also pervades Duncan's 2022 sophomore effort, a space-themed concept album titled Come Now, Earthling! that arrived in celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of Ziggy Stardust. Duncan's musical odyssey has led him from New York City to Nashville to Los Angeles, and the rich traditions of each location have inspired elements of his pan-American sonic vocabulary. He now divides time between his native Granite State and his adopted home of Savannah, Georgia.
